St. Petersburg downtown area is thriving and I have been part of the growth. The luxury c ondominiums and historic homes nearby offer proximity to the amenities of museums, theaters, and dining. The downtown park along the waterfront hosts many events throughout the year. Recently, the Grand Prix car race brought fun and excitement to downtown St. Petersburg. There is a 5 Star Resturant being built and a 4 Diamond Hotel. Forbes Magazine recently stated that Tampabay was one of the best areas to live (July 2007).
Tierra Verde is comprised of several islands connected by bridges. At the southernmost point is one of the most beautiful beaches in the World - Ft. DeSoto Park and beach. It is on the Gulf of Mexico and its natual bearuty has been protected from commercial development. In the 1800's, a fort was built there to defend against intruders, but is now a tourist attraction. There are some picnic tables and restroom facilities, but the racoons, squirrils ,and birds are mainly left unaffected by progress. There is an area for campers and a boat ramp, but they are not in the Beach area. Tierra Verde is only about 15 minutes to downtown St. Petersburg by freeway.
Seminole is on the ridge of the County. It is high ground, so no flood insurance is required. It is only about 10 minutes to Indian Rocks Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. It is a beautiful place to live and has shopping malls and other amenities nearby. Seminole has several main roadways to get to the Tampa International Airport and downtown St. Petersburg.
The theaters, museums, dining, airports, and other amenities make St. Petersburg, Tierra Verde, and Seminole great places to live!
